Had a hard drive fail on an older Toshiba Satellite (Win 8) which I replaced with an SSD and have experienced manufacturer installation restrictions due to hardware change, new OS in the past. No such problems in this case installation straight forward as was online registration of Windows 10 Pro. Easy enough only problem is after installing and setting up Microsoft updated even if you don’t want them, appears you are not able to turn them off.
The update informs you that your version of Windows is nearing the end of support and proceeds to install an updated version which takes a while after which my computer crashed and I had to start all over . I am as still trying to avoid unnecessary updates apart from all that it’s still a great way to get windows 10 and I would buy again, good way to bring old computers back to life. Read full review…

After a PC rebuild which left me reduced to Win 8.1 on disk and no way to get the free Win10 back, this was without doubt the cheapest easiest method.
I got the Pro versionso I actually upgraded as I had the Home version previous. It gives you some great little integration options not found on the home version giving the whole PC that newer faster and now smarter look.

I just installed WIN10 on old WIN7 Laptop, on fresh SSD disk.
IAll process was very short, I have a WIN10 installation file on USB ready.
I recommend to use the USB because ISO file is more complicated, and many laptops do not have DVD any more.

Once I realised that the license code would not UPGRADE to W10 Pro but would permit a CLEAN INSTALL everything went OK. Wasted time & effort at first but it was my fault by assuming it would upgrade!

Purchased this USB bootable and got it installed. My laptop before with factory Acer software was HORRIBLE. Seems to run and bootup much faster now. You will need to go into the BIOS and make the computer boot from the USB HDD or something similar, then delete all the existing partitions (IF you want to wipe the computer clean like I did) then it just installs in about 30 min.
